Good Afternoon Texas Veterans Private School Consortium!

Thought we could meet virtually again and keep dialogue going in this group. If you can make it great! If not, we will continue to try and meet monthly.

For this month's meeting we can discuss TACVPO and touch base on plans, if you all would like. https://www.tacvpo.com/ 

Again, I wont be able to go unfortunately, but I believe Dr. Ruiz with St. Thomas is planning to host a session with the private institutions that are able to make it - and Baylor's SCOs will be there!

Furthermore, I would love to connect on the topic of Military Reserve/National Guard Student Policies. Curious what you all have established as explicit policy and if you all have encountered issues around this topic?

For context, Baylor only has this policy here (https://vets.web.baylor.edu/about-us/veteranreserve-policies-and-benefits) explicitly written in our student handbook. However, Texas State has additional policies for absences required which include (from my understanding) the annual one weekend a month and two weeks a year training. However, these laws do not apply to Private Universities and therefore, I am working to collect a list of best practices as we work to enhance our policy.
