WACO, Texas – Baylor men’s golf will host the Bear Brawl for a second-straight season beginning Monday morning at Ridgewood Country Club.

The Bears will account for two squads in the eight-team field, allowing all nine available players to see action on Monday.

After being played as a match-play event in the spring of 2022, Monday's tournament will be a 36-hole stroke-play event. It will begin with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start, followed by a brief lunch break and a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start for the final round.

Playing just the second event in Waco since 2005, head coach Mike McGraw is looking forward to seeing his guys play in the friendly confines of their home course.

“Our players are excited about finally being able to play in front of Baylor fans,” he said. “It’s always great to see green and gold in our gallery.”

Johnny Keefer will lead off the first of Baylor's two teams at the No. 1 spot for a 16th-straight event. Keefer is coming off his best stroke-play finish of the season, a tie for 27th at the Trinity Forest Invitational, highlighted by a pair of 69s in the final two rounds.

Luke Dossey will look to continue his stellar senior season, playing out of the No. 2 spot. The Austin native clinched last year's Bear Brawl with a birdie on the 19th hole against UTSA's David Harrison, which won the match for Dossey and the event title for the Bears.

Trey Bosco will play out of the No. 3 position on Monday. The junior leads the team with 39 birdies this season and has finished at even par or better in two of his three stroke-play events.

Tyler Isenhart will play at No. 4 in his fifth-straight start this fall. Isenhart made his only appearance in the lineup last season at the Bear Brawl, where he went unbeaten (1-0-1) in his two matches.

Luke Morgan rounds out the lineup for BU's first team at No. 5. Morgan makes his debut in the lineup coming off his best finish of the season, also in Waco, a tie for 16th at the MCC River Classic.

Sam Dossey will lead Baylor's "B" squad at No. 1. Dossey has made two starts as an individual this season, with his best finish coming as a tie for 16th at the Minnesota Golf Classic, his collegiate debut.

Zach Heffernan will play at No. 2, making his fifth start of the season. The sophomore notched his career-best finish close to home last month when he tied for 14th as an individual at the MCC River Classic.

Drew Wrightson will play at No. 3 on Monday. Wrightson is coming off the Big 12 Match Play, where he went 2-1, finishing as the only BU player with a winning record in Hockley.

Jonas Appel will play at No. 4 for the “B” squad. Appel enters this week leading the team with a pair of top-10 finishes this season, including a tie for seventh at Bear Ridge Golf Club and the MCC River Classic last month.
