WACO, Texas – No. 10 Baylor equestrian (0-3, 0-1) takes on No. 1 TCU (3-0, 0-0) Friday at 12 p.m. at the Willis Family Equestrian Center in Waco.

BU opens its home slate with a familiar Big 12 foe, as the two sides will face off for the 34th time in program history. Fans are encouraged to wear gold as part of Baylor’s “Go Gold” campaign at each sport’s first home conference contest of the season. Rally towels and “Beat TCU” buttons will be given away at the meet.

The Bears are coming off a loss at No. 4 Oklahoma State in which Madaline Callaway (Reining) and Annie Vorhies (Flat) each picked up Most Outstanding Performer honors. Callaway improved to 3-0 in her event, while Vorhies set a career high with a 90 in her Flat debut.

Vorhies also carries a 2-1 mark in Fences, her other Jumping Seat event, while Dominika Silvestri (Flat) and Daisy Kaufman (Reining) also post above-.500 records on the season. Jessica Batton (Reining) joins Callaway and Vorhies as the only remaining undefeated Bears in a particular event this year.

Under sixth-year head coach Casie Maxwell, BU is 18-8 all-time in home meets, including a 7-5 mark in home conference contests. The Bears went 3-3 in Waco last season, with a pair of ranked wins over No. 5 Texas A&M and No. 6 Fresno State.

Baylor leads the all-time series, 24-9, over TCU. However, the two sides have split the last six matchups since the start of the 2019-20 campaign. Last season, BU collected a 14-6 win at TCU, but dropped a 9-9 tiebreaker via a raw-score formula to the Horned Frogs in Waco.

TCU climbed to No. 1 in the polls this season after defeating then-No. 2 Texas A&M via a tiebreaker in its season opener. The Horned Frogs then topped UT Martin and Delaware State in a doubleheader last time out on Oct. 13.

Live scoring will be available for the meet and can be found here.<https://baylorbears.com/sports/2018/5/16/sports-w-equest-live-scoring.aspx>

Baylor rounds out its fall schedule with two November meets, first at No. 2 SMU on Friday, Nov. 4, then by hosting Fresno State on Friday, Nov. 18, in Waco.
