WACO, Texas – No. 8 Baylor equestrian is set to host its Green & Gold Scrimmage on Saturday, Sept. 18, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Willis Family Equestrian Center in Waco.

The meet is free and open to the public with fans getting their first chance to see the 2021-22 roster in action. Head coach Casie Maxwell enters her fifth season at the reins of the program and returns 13 of BU’s 18 point-winners from last season.

The Bears are coming off a trip to the NCEA national semifinals after snapping No. 1 Auburn’s 42-meet win streak in the 2021 quarterfinals, marking their first appearance in the semis during the Maxwell era. Senior Madaline Callaway (Reining) and junior Savannah Hemby (Jumping Seat) lead a talented and youthful squad that includes 21 seniors, 14 juniors, nine sophomores and 18 freshmen.

Baylor officially opens the regular season next week at No. 10 UT Martin with a 10 a.m. meet on Friday, Sept. 24, at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Pavilion.
