Springfield, Mass. – Baylor’s Queen Egbo was named to the Lisa Leslie Award Preseason Watch List by the Naismith Hall of Fame and WBCA on Friday. The honor is awarded to the top center in NCAA Division I women’s basketball.



The award’s namesake was a three-time All-American at USC, the 1994 WBCA National Player of the Year and a 2015 Naismith Hall of Fame inductee. The preseason watch list consists of 20 of the nation’s top posts. Egbo was in the final 10 for the award as a sophomore and in the final five as a junior.



The Houston native has already been named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team. Last season, Egbo averaged career-bests in points (11.1), rebounds (8.6) and blocks per game (1.9). She moved to ninth all-time on Baylor's career list for blocks with 56 as a junior, bringing her total to 120 in three seasons.



Fans are encouraged to participate in fan voting presented by Dell Technologies in each of the three rounds. In late January, the watch list will be narrowed to 10 and then in late February to just five.
