THE RUNDOWN
WACO, Texas – For the third-straight day, the Bears picked up the doubles point over Texas A&M. Paula Barañano and Olivia Malm dominated in a 6-2 victory over Isa Di Laura and Jeanette Mireles. Mel Krywoj and Isabella Harvison battled to win, 7-5, on court No. 1 over Renee McBryde and Ellie Pittman.

Brooke Thompson and Ana Carmen Zamburek fought from behind to force a tiebreaker on court No. 3 but fell, 7-3.

In singles, three Bears – Krywoj, Harvison, Zamburek – battled back from being a set down to force a third-set 10-point tiebreaker.

Malm picked up the lone win for Baylor in singles action with a, 6-4, 7-5, win over Arkansas’ Laura Rijkers.

HIGHLIGHTS

  *   Mel Krywoj and Isabella Harvison are 3-0 in doubles action this weekend.
  *   Olivia Malm picked up her second-straight singles win.

It’s the final day of the H-E-B Invitational. Play will begin with doubles at 9 a.m. and singles to follow.

In singles, I have to give credit to Arkansas. They were the hunter, and they came after us really hard. Now we just have to learn from it and be curious why we didn’t perform at our best and just get better for tomorrow. So that’s what we’re going to try to do.”
