Baylor MBB Adds Wyoming Transfer Agbim for 2025-26 season

WACO, Texas – Baylor men's basketball announced the addition of Wyoming transfer Obi Agbim on Monday.
The six-foot-three guard was named to the All-Mountain West Third Team in addition to being the conference’s Newcomer of the Year in 2024-25. In Laramie, he averaged 17.6 points and 3.4 assists a game while shooting .469 from the field and .437 from three-point range. Head coach Scott Drew is excited to add a player of Agbim’s quality to the roster.
“Obi will be a great addition to our team and is someone who really represents our “Culture of JOY,” Drew said. “He has a great work ethic, and the Baylor family will love watching him play every night.”
Prior to his time with the Cowboys, Agbim excelled in his second stint at the NCAA Division II level with Fort Lewis College. In two seasons, he appeared in 65 games, averaging 12.8 points and 3.5 rebounds, shooting 44.2% from the field, 34.5% from deep and 80% from the free-throw line. His 15.5 points per game in 2023-24 helped the Skyhawks to a second-straight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference title and a berth in the NCAA Division II tournament, where Fort Lewis made the round of 32.
For his efforts, Agbim was named NABC First-Team All South-Central Region, First-Team All-RMAC and RMAC Tournament MVP. Additionally, he was named to the All South-Central Regional team averaging 16.5 points in two tournament games. The Skyhawks won 58 games in two seasons with Agbim on the roster and won back-to-back RMAC titles for the first time in school history.
Before his time in Durango, Colo., Agbim played at Northeastern Junior College, appearing in 21 games with 20 starts. he averaged 16.8 points per game, highlighted by a career-high 32 points against Lamar Junior College on Jan. 28. On the season, he shot .360 from the field and .365 from distance while also averaging 2.9 assists per game.
A native of Houston, Agbim has worked his way through the collegiate ranks, beginning his collegiate career at Division II Metro State, where he played in nine games for the Roadrunners.
