WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s basketball head coach Nicki Collen announced the addition of SMU transfer Ella Brow on Monday.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ella to our Baylor squad,” said Collen. “Ella is a combo guard with the size, basketball IQ and skill to give us depth in our backcourt. Ella has the ability to play in ball screens and find teammates while also being able to knock down the open 3. She has dealt with injuries over the past two seasons at SMU, however we believe a fully healthy Ella will be an asset to our team with two years of eligibility remaining. Ella will gain valuable experience playing for the New Zealand national team this summer as they play a series against Australia. An elite student, Ella graduated in three years with a degree in Sports Management and plans to work on a master’s degree at Baylor.”

The 5-foot-8 guard joins the Bears after three years on the Hilltop.

Playing an abbreviated 14-game season in 2024-25, Brow scored 6.1 points per game in 23.4 minutes on the court with three double-figure performances, including a career-high match of 14 points against Arkansas–Pine Bluff in November. Brow started two games against UT Arlington and Duke, scoring eight in both contests with three rebounds and 10 assists combined.

As a freshman, Brow made 10 starts in 25 games, scoring 4.6 points per game with 68 total assists, and earned AAC All-Freshman Team honors. She had three assists in 11 minutes off the bench in a November 2022 matchup at the Ferrell Center versus Baylor in her lone appearance against her future squad.

A native of Palm Beach, Australia, Brow attended Palm Beach Currumbin State High School and was just selected to play with the New Zealand Tall Ferns in a Trans-Tasman Series against Australia.

The 2024-25 Baylor squad finished the season with a 28-8 record while matching Collen's best Big 12 record at 15-3. BU finished second in the Big 12 regular season, advanced to its 16th Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship final and hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament for the 11th time in program history.

Baylor women's basketball is presented by Central National Bank, a family-owned, independent bank headquartered in Waco, Texas, that provides uniquely personal service while simultaneously embracing the latest developments in banking technology.
