BRYAN, Texas — Baylor women’s golf resumes its Texas three-step on Monday morning when they tee it up in the “Mo" Morial Invitational at Traditions Golf Club.
Winners of this event in 2003, BU is making its first appearance at "The Mo" since 2008. Head coach Jay Goble is looking for his team to gather momentum as they bid for a fifth-straight NCAA Championship appearance next month.
“We always set up our schedule to be playing our best golf at this time of year,” he said. “I really want to see us put together some good rounds over the next couple of days and build some momentum heading into the Big 12 Championship and beyond. Traditions has hosted several regionals over the years, so I’m excited to see how we handle it this week.”
Silje Ohma will take her place at No. 1 for the fourth time in the last five tournaments. The junior has been one of the Bears' most consistent performers this year, boasting a team-leading four top-10 finishes.
Sera Hasegawa will play at No. 2 this week. The senior comes to Traditions with BU’s best below-par percentage at 18.6%.
Malena Castro returns to the lineup for the first time since the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at the beginning of the month. Castro is the first freshman since Gurleen Kaur in 2018 to enroll in January and appear in at least four events.
Ashleen Kaur will play at No. 4 this week, making her fourth appearance of the spring.
BaiMai Seema will make her team-leading 10th start of the year, playing at No. 5. The senior is working on the 13th-best career stroke average in program history at 74.33.
Bridget Boczar will make her return to competition as an individual this week.
Monday will feature 36 holes of continuous play commencing with an 8 a.m. CT shotgun start. The final round will also feature an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday morning.
