McGhee becomes the 17th Baylor player selected as an All-American, and the eighth to be named as such in their senior season. She is the 10th different BU player to earn a nod overall. She joins a list of great Bears named honorable mention, including setters Taylor Barnes (2009) and Hannah Lockin Sedwick (2017), middle blockers Anna Breyfogle (2009), Shelly Fanning Stafford (2017), and sister Kara McGhee (2022), with outside hitters Yossiana Pressley (2017, 18), Lauren Harrison (2020) and Avery Skinner (2021).
This season, McGhee was named Preseason All-Big 12, First Team All-Big 12, All-Tournament for the Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge, and earned one Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honor. She was named AVCA All-Southwest Region on Dec. 10, which pushed her onto the All-America ballot.
McGhee led the team in kills overall for the season and in 20 different matches, including a streak of 12 matches in a row. She also led the team in aces on the year, including 12 matches.
The San Antonio native solidified herself as one of the most prolific seniors in the Ryan McGuyre era at Baylor, coming in second for senior kills and attempts, first in aces and aces per set, third in kills per set, and fifth in attack percentage.
The four-year player completed her Baylor career with 1,126 kills at 3.17 kills per set with a .232 hitting percentage. She finished with 77 aces overall, all coming in her final two seasons at 0.22 aces per set. McGhee finishes with 360 digs and 169 blocks, along with 1,298 points.
