WACO, Texas – Baylor’s Gurleen Kaur added another accomplishment to her ever-growing list when she was named a second-team All-American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association on Thursday.

The Houston native becomes the first four-time All-American in program history and the first to be named in three-consecutive seasons. She was previously recognized as a Golfweek All-America honorable mention in 2018, 2020 and 2021. Head coach Jay Goble recruited Kaur to Baylor and has had a front-row seat to watch her etch her name all over the BU record books.

“I think she’s been an incredible representative for Baylor in every way, both on and off the golf course,” Goble said. “She will leave a massive footprint at Baylor with all that she has accomplished, which gives her teammates and those that will come after some lofty goals to shoot for. When you recruit a player, you hope they are one-tenth of what Gurleen has been for us, and I have enjoyed every second of my time with her at Baylor."

The senior finished the year with a team-leading stroke average of 72.03, which fell short of the program mark she set last year at 71.97. Kaur owns three of the top-10 single-season stroke-average marks in BU history, and all five of her seasons rank in the top 22. She also led the team with 21 rounds at par or better, six top-5 finishes, seven top-10 finishes and nine top-25 finishes.

Kaur picked up Big 12 Golfer of the Month honors for the second time in her career in October 2021, joining Lauren Taylor as the only players in program history to win multiple golfer of the month honors.

Earlier this year, she received a sponsor's invitation to play in the LPGA's Chevron Championship. She became the first player in program history to compete in the Augusta National Women's Amateur in 2021, the same year she was one of four amateurs to make the cut at the US Women's Open at Olympic Club.

Finishing up her Baylor career this past week at the NCAA Championship, Kaur set the BU record for the most NCAA Championship rounds played with 12. She also set program marks in wins with four, career rounds played with 145, and tied for the most rounds played in a single season with 37. Her career stroke average of 72.48 ranks second in program history, while she ranks second in career top-5s with 13 and second in career top-10s with 21.
