Baylor FB’s Power named to Ray Guy Award Watch List

WACO, Texas – Baylor senior punter Issac Power earned a spot on the Ray Guy Award preseason watch list for a second-straight year, as announced Wednesday by the Augusta Sports Council.
Power, a Castle Rock, Colo., native, enters his fifth season with BU, ranking eighth in program history in punts (175), ninth in punting yards (7,298) and ninth in yards per punt (41.7). He is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection and a six-time member of the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
He is coming off a season where he averaged 45.0 yards per punt, which is good enough for the seventh-best single-season average in BU history. Additionally, his 20 punts of 50+ yards are tied for the fifth-most in a single season.
So far this preseason, Power has also been named to the All-Big 12 Third Team by Phil Steele and the All-Big 12 Fourth Team by Athlon.
The Augusta Sports Council in Georgia sponsors the Ray Guy Award, and the honor will be a part of the Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN, Thursday, Dec. 8.
