WACO, Texas – Baylor men’s golf has inked University of South Florida transfer Luc Breuer to a Financial Aid Contract, head coach Mike McGraw announced Tuesday.

A native of Aachen, Germany, Breuer played two seasons in Tampa for the Bulls, where he played in three events as an individual with a stroke average of 74.44 across nine rounds.

“We are excited to be adding Luc to our program,” McGraw said. “He brings a lot to the table in terms of experience, work ethic and discipline.”

He is coming off his sophomore season, where he finished fourth in the Veterans Intercollegiate with a pair of rounds under par, including a first-round 67. The fourth-place finish was his career-best in his only event of the season.

As a freshman, he competed in six rounds across two tournaments in 2020-21, highlighted by his best round of the season, a 1-over 73, in the second round of the Timuquana Collegiate, which was his collegiate debut.

Before his collegiate golf career, Breuer attended Pius Gymnasium Aachen in Germany, where he recorded two German championships in his age group in 2016 and 2017. He was nominated to represent Team Europe at the 2017 Asia-Pacific Junior Championship in Hong Kong and placed third at the European Young Masters in Norway in 2018, carding the lowest round at the event at 7-under. Additionally, he notched a fifth-place finish at the Scottish Boys Open and a second-place showing at the Dutch Junior Open U21.

Breuer joins an experienced BU roster that returns 79.5% of its stroke-play rounds played in 2021-22, led by senior All-American Johnny Keefer.
