Baylor Men’s Golf Remains Sixth at Big 12 Championship
Three Bears shot even-par 70 in Tuesday’s third round

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Baylor men’s golf remained in sixth place after shooting 1-over-par 281 in Tuesday’s third round at the 2021 Big 12 Championship. The Bears have a 54-hole total of 34-over-par 874.



Baylor (+34) leads Kansas (+43), Kansas State (+48), West Virginia (+57) and Iowa State (+62). The Bears are just four shots back of Texas Tech (+30) and TCU (+30) and 18 shots back of three teams tied for the lead at 16-over – Texas, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma.



Three Bears shot even-par 70 in Tuesday’s third round. Cooper Dossey was 2-over through two holes, but fought back and finished with consecutive birdies on his final two holes to card even-par, moving into a tie for 33rd place at 15-over 225. Johnny Keefer bounced back from a double bogey on his first hole by making three birdies, 13 pars and only one bogey the rest of the way to shoot even-par. He moved into a tie for 26th place at 13-over 223. Mark Reppe posted a birdie on No. 17 to finish at even-par and tied for 10th place at 8-over 218.



Colin Kober recorded the Bears’ final counting score with a 1-over 71 to move into a tie for 10th place at 8-over 218. Both Reppe and Kober are in position to potentially make the Big 12 All-Tournament Team, which is comprised of the top-10 individuals. Ryan Grider carded 8-over 78 to move into a tie for 30th place at 14-over 224.



STAT OF THE DAY

12-under – Baylor leads the tournament in par-5 scoring at 12-under-par 4.60. The Bears are 13-over as a team on No. 7, going 4-under on the hole in each of the first two rounds and 5-under in the third round. Reppe is 4-under on the hole, while Kober, Grider and Keefer are each 3-under.



WHAT’S NEXT

Baylor is in the first group to tee off for Wednesday’s third round, and the Bears are paired in twosomes with players from TCU. Dossey is up first at 8 a.m. CT, and he’ll be followed in nine-minute intervals by Grider, Keefer, Reppe and Kober, respectively.
