Important Department Leadership Update

Athletics Staff,

Yesterday afternoon Mack Rhoades informed President Livingstone that he would like to take a leave of absence for personal reasons for approximately the next four weeks. Effective immediately, Cody and I will serve as co-interim Athletic Directors, in accordance with Mack’s previously submitted emergency succession plan to the University. Please know that University and Athletics leadership are aligned and working together to ensure we move forward without interruption.

While Mack is on personal leave, President Livingstone indicated there should be no outgoing communication to him, and any incoming communication from him should not be responded to. This is to ensure he has the privacy and space needed during this period.

We understand the weight that moments like this can carry, and we want you to be encouraged by the deep care we have for you, your programs, and your student-athletes. Please do not hesitate to reach out as needs arise—we are here to support you fully.
