SAM RYDER FINAL RESULTS<https://scoreboard.clippd.com/tournaments/239149/scoring/team>

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Stringing together back-to-back rounds of 2-under-par 70, Auburn transfer Evan Vo<https://baylorbears.com/sports/mens-golf/roster/evan-vo/14160> finished in a tie for fourth at the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate and led the Baylor men's golf team to its highest finish in two years.

Improving each round, the Bears closed with a 1-over 289 on Tuesday and moved up two spots to finish second behind the host Stetson team at 8-over 872. Playing the par-72 Hills Course at LPGA International, the Hatters had bookend rounds of 5-under 283 and ran away with the team title at 13-under 851.

Vo birdied three of his final five holes to get to red numbers for the day and tie for fourth at even-par 216, his best finish in three years and first top-10 finish at Baylor. He had the third-most birdies (12) in the field and tied for the second-best par-4 scoring at 1-under.

Senior Jonas Appel<https://baylorbears.com/sports/mens-golf/roster/jonas-appel/14155> narrowly missed a top-10 finish, shooting consecutive scores of even-par 72 in the last two rounds and tying for 11th at 2-over 218. Separated by one shot, senior Sam Dossey<https://baylorbears.com/sports/mens-golf/roster/sam-dossey/14156> (73-220) and UConn transfer Alex Heard<https://baylorbears.com/sports/mens-golf/roster/alex-heard/14161> (74-221) tied for 20th and 25th, respectively.

"I'm pleased with the guys' effort the past couple of days," interim head coach Ryan Murphy<https://baylorbears.com/sports/mens-golf/roster/coaches/ryan-murphy/2570> said. "Evan's under-par rounds and strong individual finish was terrific. He's been working diligently on his game, and it's always nice to see hard work pay off. And while Jonas has more in the tank, his finish was still very respectable."

Starting and ending his day with bogeys, junior Davis Ovard<https://baylorbears.com/sports/mens-golf/roster/davis-ovard/14158> struggled to an 8-over 80 in the final round and tied for 53rd at 13-over 229.

As a team, Baylor had the most birdies (50) and had the second-best par-4 scoring at 6-over, while playing the par 5s in 3-under.

The Bears moved past Campbell and UTEP in Tuesday's final round, with the Camels finishing third at 10-over 874 and the Miners fourth at 14-over 878. Stetson's Matthis Lefevre edged teammate Jackson Hicks by one shot, winning medalist honors at 6-under 210.

"We will need to refine some areas and get all five guys to fire at the same time," Murphy said. "That will be the goal for our next event in Myrtle Beach."

Back on the east coast in two weeks, Baylor will play in The Michael A. Marino on March 15-17 at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
