ORLANDO, Fla. – Baylor men's basketball travels to UCF on Saturday night at 7 p.m. CT on FS1 at Addition Financial Arena.
GAME NOTES
• Saturday night’s matchup will be only the third meeting between the Bears and Knights in program history, with the two not meeting until UCF joined the Big 12. Baylor is 2-0 against UCF.
• With a trip to UCF and Houston over the next two games, Baylor begins a two-game swing through Space Cities.
• BU went toe-to-toe with No. 2 Arizona on Tuesday night, building a seven-point halftime lead and forcing a second-half that had nine ties before ultimately faling 87-80.
• The seven-point halftime lead was the largest halftime defecit for Arizona since last season at Kansas and only the third time this season the Wildcats had trailed at the half.
• Cameron Carr earned a career-best in FGs (11) and FGAs (19) to end with 26 points, his 12th 20-point game.
• Isaac Williams IV continued his career-long five-game streak in double-figures with 16 points and a career-high of 8 assists.
• Williams is averaging 15.6 points per game and has shot a .617-clip from the field (29-of-47) in the last five games.
• Williams holds an impressive 4.1 assist/turnover ratio in the last five contents.
• Tounde Yessoufou continues to rewrite the freshman program record book, breaking the freshman record of made field goals with 187, passing the record held since 1975-76 by Larry Spicer.
• Yessoufou continues Baylor’s the success streak of standout freshman in the record books, with VJ Edgecombe (2024-25), Ja’Kobe Walter (2023-24), and Keyonte George (2022-23) all making their marks in the last four years.
• Yessoufou became only the fourth player in Baylor program history to reach the 500-point mark in his freshman year. He’s on track to break the program record in points by a freshman (509), only needing eight points.
• Yessoufou is 12 steals away from breaking the BU freshman record of steals, currently held by VJ Edgecombe (68).
• Yessoufou ranks second in the Big 12 in steals (56) and third in the Big 12 in steals per game (2.00).
• Cameron Carr became the first sophomore to achieve 500 points in a season since LaceDarius Dunn in 2007-08.
• Carr leads the Bears and is sixth in the Big 12 with 18.9 points per game.
• Head coach Scott Drew is two wins away from 500 career wins with a career record of 498-284.
• Kenpom has the Bears holding the No. 2 toughest opponent defensive strength of schedule in the country.
• Additionally, BU’s overall strength of schedule ranks as 11th in the nation and 3rd in the Big 12.
• Baylor is shooting 46.4-percent from the field and averaging 78.4 points in its last five games versus 40.1-percent field goals and an average of 66.8 points in its first five games of the conference season.
• The Bears are 95-5 (.950) over the last 10 seasons when hitting at least 50.0 percent from the field, sixth best in Division I (min. 20 games).
