COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Baylor track and field continues its outdoor season this weekend, traveling to Texas A&M to compete in the 44 Farms Invitational at the E.B. Cushing Stadium from April 11-12 in College Station, Texas. A group of 34 Bears will compete over the two-day meet.



LADIES LEAD IN THE TOP FIVE

In the second USTFCCCA rankings of the 2025 outdoor season, the Baylor women climbed to the No. 5 ranking. Three event groups were ranked in the top 10, with BU stacking in third for both pole vault and long jump and ninth in 400m hurdles.



PROGRAM HISTORY MAKER

In his outdoor season debut, freshman Igor Olaru set a new program record in the hammer throw set. Olaru broke the record on his first throw at the 201-00 mark but broke it again on his fifth throw to earn a 206-07 mark to earn first place at the Clyde Hart Classic.



VAULTING INTO THE TOP 10

The pole-vaulting duo of senior Tenly Kuhn and sophomore Molly Haywood rank in the top 10 pole vaulters in the NCAA. At the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Event, both earned new PRs, which saw Haywood earn a 14-8 mark to rank third and Kuhn had a 14-4 mark to rank eighth in the nation. Haywood currently stands at the No. 2 best mark in BU history, while Kuhn holds the fourth.



MAKING MOVES IN THE NCAA

Leading the Bears in men’s running events, freshman Amon Malakwen entered the top-50 marks in the NCAA in the 800m, earning a 1:48.80 time and currently stands No. 40 in the nation.
