Baylor WT Returns Home for Pair of Big 12 Matches
The Bears will take on Iowa State and Kansas on Friday this weekend

WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s tennis returns to the Hurd Tennis Center on Friday for a matchup with Iowa State at 3 p.m. and again on Sunday to play Kansas at 1 p.m.



Both matches are free for fans to attend at the Hurd Tennis Center. Fans unable to attend can follow along via live stats<http://www.sidearmstats.com/baylor/wten/> and a live stream<https://baylorbears.com/sports/2018/9/18/tennis-playsight>.



Friday’s match has been tabbed Hounds at the Hurd, and fans are encouraged to bring their furry friends to the contest. Sunday is a beach theme and free tank tops will be available while supplies last. Cub tennis, a free instructional clinc for kids, will be offered an hour prior to first serve each day.



ABOUT THE BEARS

Baylor (13-6, 5-1 Big 12) is returning to Waco after a three-match roadtrip in which it earned a 4-1 win over Nebraska and a 4-3 win over Kansas State before getting shut out by No. 1 Oklahoma State. The Bears, who are currently third in the league standings, are No. 30 in the latest ITA team rankings report. The tandem of Isabella Harvison and Liubov Kostenko, who are 6-1 on the year, made their first appearance in the doubles rankings, checking in at No. 66. Newcomer Miska Kadleckova, who sits at a team-best 12-2 on the year, remained at No. 101 in the singles rankings.



ABOUT THE CYCLONES

Iowa State is seeking its first conference win of the year, sitting at 2-10 overall and 0-5 in the league standings. The Cyclones have yet to win a road match this season. Anna Supapitch Kuearum is one win away from her 80th win in singles and doubles at Iowa State. She is currently 6-5 at the No. 1 singles spot and 4-3 on the season at the No. 1 doubles spot with partner Isabella Dunlap.



ABOUT THE JAYHAWKS

Kansas is 5-8 overall and holds a 3-2 record in Big 12 action. The team is spearheaded by Gracie Mulville, who has gone 3-5 on the top court including 3-2 against ranked opponents. The Jayhawks’ lone road win of the year was a 4-1 decision at Kansas State.
