WACO, Texas – The Baylor women’s tennis team remains on the road and resumes Big 12 play this weekend when it takes on Kansas State and top-ranked Oklahoma State.



The Bears are set to face the Wildcats at 4 p.m. on Friday before taking on the Cowgirls on Sunday at 1 p.m.

ABOUT THE BEARS

Baylor (12-5, 4-0 Big 12) jumped six spots in the latest ITA collegiate tennis team rankings released on Monday, sitting at No. 26. The Bears have won six-straight matches after picking up a 4-1 victory at Nebraska on Wednesday. BU took the doubles point to start the match while Zuzanna Kubacha, Miska Kadleckova and Liubov Kostenko all earned wins in singles. Collectively, the Bears are 17-3 overall in singles and 6-4 in doubles action during league play this spring. Four Bears are undefeated in singles, led by Kadleckova’s 4-0 record, while Kadleckova and Danielle Tuhten have a team-leading three victories in doubles.



ABOUT THE WILDCATS

Kansas State (7-5, 1-3 Big 12) has lost its last three matches but have a 4-1 record at home this spring. The Wildcats earned their first Big 12 victory of the season, opening conference play with a 6-1 decision over Iowa State. Kansas State is led by Tereza Polakova, who is a perfect 9-0 in singles action, while Maralgoo Chogsomjav is also undefeated, sitting at 6-0. In doubles play, Chogsomjav and Manami Ukita lead the way with five wins.



ABOUT THE COWGIRLS

Oklahoma State (15-0, 4-0 Big 12) is the top-ranked team in the country and is off to its second-best start to a season in program history and best start since 1981. In the singles rankings, five Cowgirls rank within the top 100, including Ange Oby Kajuru and Anastasiya Komar who sit in the top five. In doubles, Komar and Kajuru check in at No. 5, while the tandem of Komar and Raquel Gonzalez are ranked at No. 21. This spring, Oklahoma State is a combined 57-17 in singles and its three doubles teams are 25-13.
