ATLANTA – Baylor volleyball alumnae Shelly Fanning (’19) and Yossiana Pressley (’21) were named to the Atlanta Vibe roster on Monday, the team announced.

The Vibe is part of the Pro Volleyball Federation, celebrating its inaugural season in 2024.

Pressley, an outside hitter, was picked up by the Vibe on Monday off waivers, joining her former Baylor teammate.

Pressley was named the 2019 AVCA, espnW, and Big 12 Conference Player of the Year, and finished her collegiate career with five AVCA All-America selections with First Team honors in each of her last three seasons. In 2017, she was both AVCA Region and Big 12 Freshman of the Year. She set the record for most kills in a career at Baylor with 2,395 and 5,828 attack attempts. Postgrad, Pressley played professionally with ASPTT Mulhouse Volley-Ball in France during the 2021-22 season and Athletes Unlimited in the U.S. in 2022-23.

Middle blocker Shelly Fanning graduated as a five-year letter winner from Baylor and a three-time AVCA All-America athlete. She was the first player in program history to earn All-Big 12 honors four times, including three times as a first-teamer. Fanning had unanimous first-team selections in her final two seasons. The Waco Tribune-Herald named her Defender of the Decade as well. Postgrad, she played for five different teams in the U.S. and abroad, most recently with Athletes Unlimited.

In 2019, both Fanning and Pressley were integral in Baylor earning its first-ever Big 12 title and No. 1 ranking, while leading BU to a NCAA Semifinals berth. Both players were also two-time members of the USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team.

Atlanta was picked to finish second in the league in the PVF’s preseason poll, behind the Supernovas, by two first-place votes and one point.

Along with Fanning and Pressley, there are 10 former Big 12 student-athletes from three different squads on PVF rosters.

The Vibe will face the Omaha Supernovas on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Neb., at 7 p.m. CT. The match can be watched for free via Stadium or the Bally Live sports app. It will be the Federation’s inaugural match as a league.
