WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian Jumping Seat sophomore Lauren Reid, Jumping Seat senior Madison Mitchell and Reining freshman Riley Cachat collected Big 12 Rider of the Month awards, as announced Wednesday afternoon.



Reid was named Fences Rider of the Month for the second consecutive month. Additionally, Mitchell garnered Flat Rider of the Month praise and Cachat was dubbed Reining Rider of the Month.



Reid paved the way for BU’s spring opener, leading the Fences squad to a 5-0 sweep of No. 5 Georgia. The Nazareth, Pa. native posted a career-high 88 on her way to Most Outstanding Performer (MOP), tallying her fifth consecutive point.



Over in the Flat pen, Mitchell answered with a career-high 95, the second-highest Flat score in the Maxwell era. Mitchell’s 95-ride secured her first Flat MOP of the season.



Cachat carried the momentum into Reining, posting a 70 to collect the sole point in the event for BU.



These awards mark Reid’s third conference monthly award while Mitchell and Cachat earn their first-career monthly honors.



Baylor improved to 2-6 after its 11-8 upset win over Georgia, as Reid and Mitchell set career-highs. The Bears head to Stillwater for a Big 12 rematch against No. 7 Oklahoma State on Friday, Feb. 9
