TOP QUOTES
Head Coach Casie Maxwell
On today’s win…
“It’s nice to put a hash in that win column. This team has made a lot of progress that hasn’t been reflected in the last three meets. Today was too close for comfort, but at the end of the day you come out with a win. It doesn’t matter if it was a tie or a blowout a win’s a win. I’m proud of how they kept fighting to the very last ride and not allow themselves to be unnerved. We just need to go uphill from here.”

On the team’s resilience…
“They’ve learned along the way, especially the returners. They’ve seen meets where if you give up on yourself too early it can fall apart and if you don’t give up on yourself you can win in the second half. They know the importance of being resilient and pushing through to the very last point. They’ve seen that. Our young group has a lot of drive in them. They were fighting for a win and were going to do everything it took today. I just need to keep them in that space.”

Jumping Seat fifth-year senior Dominika Silvestri
On getting the first win…
“It’s been a tough start. I’m proud of how everyone has come around. We’ve had some tough road losses and meets in general. Everyone rallied against OSU. It was really close, but great to be that close. It was just a couple off weeks. We came out swinging today. We had some great rides and some places we could’ve cleaned up, but to have a win on the board is a great thing.”

WHAT’S NEXT
No. 8 Baylor (1-3, 1-1) will finish their fall season on the road. First, BU heads up I-35 to take on No. 1 TCU (5-0, 2-0) on Friday, Nov. 10 at Bear Creek Farms in Burleson, Texas before a back-to-back meets in Delaware, Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 18.
