STORY LINES

• Baylor Softball added a doubleheader against South Dakota State to their schedule and will face the Jackrabbits on Wednesday, March 15 at Getterman Stadium.

• The Bears are beginning a five-game home stand, that will begin with the two games against SDSU. BU has never faced the Jackrabbits before.

• Baylor had two available games in their schedule after their trip to Long Beach, Calif., and the Louisville Slugger Invitational, was cut short due to weather.

• BU went 1-2 in the tournament, defeating host game one host Cal State Fullerton and falling against Boston University and Long Beach State in back-to-back games. Those losses marked the Bears first back-to-back losses of the season.

• McKenzie Wilson ended her on-base streak, which dated back to last season, at 35. That streak is good for third all-time in the Baylor record books, on short of tying Lindsey Cargill for second place at 36.

• Dariana Orme picked up a win over Cal State Fullerton, after pitching a seven-inning complete-game in the Bears 5-2 win over the Titans. She tossed five shut-out innings and struck out seven.

• Maintaining their position in the polls, Baylor is now ranked No. 20 in the D1Softball poll. The Bears are also ranked No. 20 in the Softball America Poll and come in at No. 20 in the ESPN poll and No. 21 in the NFCA coaches’ poll.

• Before last week, Baylor’s 17-2 start tied for the best start in program history, which dates back to the 2011 season. The same season the Bears went all the way to the semifinals in the Women’s College World Series.

• Shaylon Govan leads the Bears with a .424 batting average with four doubles, five home runs and 32 RBI. She is currently 5th in the nation in runs batted in per game with 1.45 and leads the Big 12 with 32 already on the season.

• Govan is one of four Bears to have double digit RBIs already on the season. Amber Toven follows her with 16, Emily Hott has 15 and McKenzie Wilson has 11.

• Sydney Collazos was instrumental in the Bears win over Cal State Fullerton, leading the way with two RBIs, two sacrifice hits and a double.

• BU has had 21 of 22 players see action during a game at some point this season.
• With a career record of 994-469, head coach Glenn Moore is looking for his 1,000th career win this season and is only five wins away from hitting the milestone.
