LAST TIME OUT

Baylor picked up its fifth top-25 win of the season on Monday, powering past No. 12 Texas on the road, 63-54. With the win, the Bears snapped the Longhorns’ 12-game home win streak. The 54 points scored by Texas marked a season low, as the Longhorns were averaging 75.3 points per game going into Monday’s contest.

Three Bears finished in double figures led by Darianna Littlepage-Buggs, who finished with 19 points, going 9-for-18 from the floor, in 39 minutes off the bench. She scored 15 of her 19 in the opening half. Additionally, the seven-time Big 12 Freshman of the Week added a team-leading 13 rebounds for her 14th double-double of the season and 10th in league play.

Sarah Andrews reached double-figure scoring for the 22nd time this season, registering 17 points, while Asberry finished in double digits, adding 10. For the fifth-straight game, Jaden Owens led the Bears in assists, dishing out seven. In 10 minutes off the bench, freshman Kyla Abraham matched her career-high with six points.

THINGS TO WATCH

  * Graduate Ja’Mee Asberry has played 151 games in her career. Lauren Heard (TCU) holds the Big 12 record at 153. Only Iowa State’s Ashley Joens (152) has played more games than Asberry.
  * Junior Sarah Andrews is 55 points away from reaching 1,000 for her career.
  * Fifth-year Caitlin Bickle is currently shooting 50% from the floor, 40% from 3-point range and 80% at the free throw line, which are the best averages among players in the five position in the Power 5. She is on a list of just nine players that were at least six-feet tall who have shot 50/40/80 in the Big 12 since 1999-00.
  * Rookie Darianna Littlepage-Buggs earned her seventh Big 12 Freshman of the Week award on Monday, becoming the first BU rookie since Nina Davis in 2014 to collect it seven times in a season. Additionally, she is one of just four players in the Big 12 to earn the distinction at least seven times in a single season since 2009.
  * The Bears are just one victory away from securing 20 wins this season. Baylor has won 20-plus games in 22-straight seasons, which is the second-longest active streak among Division I programs. UConn leads the way with 30-straight 20-plus win seasons.

SCOUTING WEST VIRGINIA AND THE SERIES

Baylor holds the 22-4 advantage in the all-time series, despite suffering the 74-65 loss in Morgantown on Jan. 15. Saturday’s contest marks the second time in three years the two programs have ended the regular season against each other.

The Mountaineers are 18-10 overall on the year and 9-8 in Big 12 play and sit right behind Baylor in the league standings. West Virginia ranks first in the conference in 3-point percentage defense (27.6%) and second in scoring defense (61.3). The Mountaineers have two players averaging double figures in JJ Quinerly (14.4) and Madisen Smith (13.4).

Smith helped WVU win its second-straight game on Wednesday, logging her second-straight 20-point performance, finishing with 22 against the Oklahoma State Cowgirls.
