GOLD CANYON, Ariz. – Baylor women's golf returns to action at the Match in the Desert on Monday morning at Superstition Mountain Golf Club.

BU joins fellow Big 12 squads TCU and Kansas, who will square off against three Pac 12 schools in No. 13 Arizona, No. 15 Arizona State and No. 22 UCLA. The event is an 18-hole stroke-play event with a conference challenge element to it. The lowest 12 scores from Big 12 individuals will be compared with the lowest 12 scores from Pac 12 individuals, with the best total taking home conference bragging rights.

Superstition Mountain Golf Club will play host to an NCAA regional in the coming years, but before teeing it up on Monday, the Bears will get a chance to play practice rounds at Papago Golf Club and Grayhawk Golf Club. The team will see Papago at the ASU Ping Invitational in March and hope to see Grayhawk again at the NCAA Championships in May, so this trip will be invaluable for this team entering the spring.

“We're excited for Monday," head coach Jay Goble said. “I feel good about the team. We have six of our eight available players here to see some golf courses we will play later in the year. It's going to be nice to see what we’ve got, to see who's ready to play, and will be a gamer for us the spring.”

Britta Snyder will lead things off for the Bears, aiming to get off to a strong start this spring after a productive winter break. She most recently finished tied for 21st at the Women’s Orlando International Amateur in early January.

Rosie Belsham will play at No. 2, coming off a fall where she finished with a stroke average of 70.78 and led the team with a par-or-better percentage of 82.7%.

Hannah Karg will make her first start since she won the MCC River Classic as an individual in September, with a 2-under 142 at Cottonwood Golf Course. It will be her first round in the lineup since the second round of the NCAA Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club last May.

BaiMai Seema will make her fourth-straight start in the lineup at the No. 4 position. The sophomore is coming off a fall season where she made the second-most pars with 102.

Silje Ohma takes the final spot in the lineup. The freshman burst onto the scene this fall, shooting a school-record 65 en route to a top-10 finish in her first-ever collegiate event at the Schooner Fall Classic.

Joining the team just a few weeks ago, freshman Ilani Short will debut as an individual on Monday morning. The Brisbane, Australia, native reached No. 1 in the Australian Girls' National Order of Merit in 2022.

The tournament will begin on Monday morning. Once available, pairings and live stats will be available at Golfstat.com.<https://results.golfstat.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=participants&tid=25698>
