STORYLINES

LEADING OFF

• Baylor Baseball returns home to Baylor Ballpark this week for four games in Waco, hosting Stephen F. Austin in a midweek matchup Tuesday ahead of welcoming Oklahoma for a three-game series on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

• The Bears are looking to snap a seven-game losing streak, their longest since dropping 10 in a row in 2015.

• BU is coming off its first 0-4 week of the season.

• After beginning the season in a tie for first place in the Big 12 standings, the Bears have dropped to last place in the conference through the first three weeks of league play.

• Baylor is 9-3 this season when scoring six or more runs, 7-2 when out-hitting its opponents and 7-0 when leading the ballgame after six innings.

• Freshman INF Kolby Branch<https://baylorbears.com/sports/baseball/roster/kolby-branch/12083> continues his torrid pace offensively, collecting seven hits over the last week against Abilene Christian and at Kansas, including his fourth home run of the season which ties for the team lead.

• Branch has reached base safely in 26 of BU's 27 games this year.

• Sophomore INF Hunter Teplanszky<https://baylorbears.com/sports/baseball/roster/hunter-teplanszky/12075> leads the squad with a 16-game on-base streak, while junior INF/OF Cole Posey<https://baylorbears.com/sports/baseball/roster/cole-posey/12079> has a team-leading 12-game hitting streak.

• Sophomore RHP Gabe Craig<https://baylorbears.com/sports/baseball/roster/gabe-craig/12090> has not allowed a run in his last five innings of work, spanning his last six outings. He worked a career-best 2.1 scoreless frames at Kansas on Friday.

• The Bears have eclipsed double-digit strikeouts on the mound in 16 of their 28 games so far this season.

• BU has punched out at least 13 opposing hitters in 10 games this year.

• Furthermore, Baylor has racked up 15 or more K's in four games this season, including a program record for Big 12 games with 18 at Oklahoma State on March 24.

• Baylor ranks second in the Big 12 and 27th nationally with 281 strikeouts.

• BU's 10.06 strikeouts per nine innings also ranks second the conference and 45th nationally.

• In the 11th, the Wildcats made use of a three-run homer to pull away and steal the victory.
