OLYMPIA FIELDS, ILL. – For the second-straight week, Baylor men’s golf used a strong second round to rise up the leaderboard into a tie for eighth at 15-over 575 on Saturday.

On a day where only one team shot under-par and the stroke average was just under 73 (72.82), the Bears stood their ground with a 4-over 284, improving by five spots entering Sunday’s final round.

For the second-straight day, Trey Bosco led the way for BU, shooting in the 60s for the fourth time in five rounds this season. Following an early birdie at No. 11, Bosco responded with birdies at Nos. 13 and 14 to card a 1-under 34 on his opening nine. On the inward half, Bosco birdied three of his first four holes at Nos. 1, 3 and 4 to get to 4-under for the round before a closing bogey saw him finish with a 2-under 68 to sit tied for ninth.

Luke Dossey had another strong showing on Saturday as he fired an even-par 70, nearly three shots better than the field average. The senior started strong with four birdies on his outward half at Nos. 11, 13, 15 and 17, contributing to a 2-under 33 on his opening nine. Dossey made one more birdie with three bogeys to finish with an even-par 70 in a tie for 19th.

He shot an even-par 35 on his inward half, highlighted by a birdie at No. 5.

Johnny Keefer opened his round on the back nine and made bogeys at Nos. 12, 14, 17 and 18. The senior responded by making birdies at Nos. 1, 3 and 7, but three bogeys offset them at Nos. 5, 8 and 9 to finish at 4-over on the day and 7-over for the weekend in a tie for 48th.

Drew Wrightson started his day strong with a birdie at No. 10 and would stay at 1-under through his first five holes. The sophomore finished with bogeys at Nos. 15, 18, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 9 for a 6-over 76, which ties him for 63rd at 10-over for the tournament.
