No. 14 Baylor VB Hosts Texas Tech for Midweek Match
Bears to play in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

WACO, Texas – The No. 14-ranked Baylor volleyball squad is set to host Texas Tech on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match in the Ferrell Center.

The Bears (15-4, 4-2 Big 12 Conference) play TTU (14-5, 3-3 Big 12) with the series in Waco tied at 20-20. Baylor head coach Ryan McGuyre has only lost two matches to Texas Tech in his tenure, winning 12 total against the Red Raiders.

Wednesday’s matchup will be a Breast Cancer Awareness match, with fans encouraged to wear pink. The Bears will be wearing their white jerseys with a pink stripe down the arm.

BU is coming off a 3-1 loss to No. 1 Texas to face Texas Tech. The Bears used a thrilling second set to even the match, snapping a 16-set streak of wins for Texas, but the Horns were able to answer with wins in the third and fourth sets to secure the victory. Prior to the match with the Longhorns, Baylor swept No. 22 Rice for a midweek match in Houston.

Texas Tech comes to Waco after falling 3-2 in a five-set bout at Kansas in Lawrence. The match before that, the Red Raiders won 3-1 against Oklahoma at home in Lubbock. TTU is led by senior Kenna Sauer in kills, Reese Rhodes in assists and Karrington Jones in blocks. Head coach Tony Graystone is in his seventh year in Lubbock at the helm of the program.
