STILLWATER, Okla. – No. 8 Baylor equestrian (0-3, 0-1) lost to No. 4 Oklahoma State (1-1, 1-0) by a final of 17-3 Saturday at the Pedigo-Hull Equestrian Center in Stillwater, Okla.

BU was held scoreless in the first half, but put up a trio of points late behind strong rides from Madaline Callaway (Reining), Dominika Silvestri (Flat) and Annie Vorhies (Flat). Callaway and Vorhies also picked up Most Outstanding Performer honors for their efforts.

THE RUNDOWN
Fences and Horsemanship kicked off the action, and despite some high scores from Maddie Vorhies (Fences, 86), Elsie Naruszewicz (Horsemanship, 76.5) and Nadalee Vasquez (Horsemanship, 76), the Cowgirls were too much to handle. OSU took a clean 10-0 sweep, however five matchups were decided by two points or less.

In the second half, Baylor got on the board in Reining behind Callaway’s MOP-winning 73 on Boss. This extends her school record with now eight-career Most Outstanding Performer recognitions in Reining. The remaining four points in the event were each decided by no more than 1.5 points.

To round it out, BU picked up two points in Flat from Vorhies’ career-high 90 on Favorite and Dominika Silvestri’s 85 on Ziggy. The duo recorded the two highest Flat scores of the season so far for the Bears.

HIGHLIGHTS
• Madaline Callaway posted a season-high 73 in Reining en route to her eighth-career Most Outstanding Performer honor.

• Elsie Naruszewicz recorded a 2022-23 team-high 76.5 in Horsemanship.
