STORY LINES

• No. 5/6 Baylor hosts Norfolk State at 7 pm CT on Friday in a rematch last year's First Round Matchup in the NCAA Tournament, an 85-49 victory for the Bears.

• Friday marks the 4th all-time meeting between the Bears and Spartans, with BU holding a 3-0 series advantage. The Bears have won the three previous contests by an average of +35 points per game.

• This will be the fourth time in the Scott Drew Era that BU has played an NCAA Tournament foe the following regular season. The Bears are 2-1 in those games with wins against Kentucky (2012) and Villanova (2021). The lone loss in that scenario came to Colorado (2012).

• The Bears are coming off a 117-53 win over Mississippi Valley State in the season opener. BU is averaging 105.25 points per game in their last four season openers.

• BU had six players score in double figures for the first time since 1/22/18 against Kansas State. The Bears were led by Adam Flagler with 21.

• The 64-point win was BU's third-largest in program history, and 117 points were 1 shy of a Ferrell Center record.

• Baylor is 19-0 all time against teams from the MEAC.

• Baylor has been in the Preseason AP Top 25 in 10 of 13 seasons since its first preseason ranking in 2010-11.

• Baylor is 39-3 in non-conference games over the last three seasons.

• Entering his 20th season at BU, Scott Drew is coming off Big 12 Coach of the Year honors for a 3rd-straight season, joining Gene Keady (Purdue, 94-96) and Jay Wright (Villanova, 14-16) as the only high-major coaches to accomplish the feat.

• Drew is now just 2 wins away from 400 wins at Baylor. (Only 8 active coaches have 400 wins at their current school)

• The Bears are 56-9 over the last 2-plus seasons, the nation's best record by a Power-5 team.

• Baylor is 82-13 over the last 3-plus seasons, the nation's 2nd-best record by a Power-5 team (Kansas).

• Baylor's streak of 10-consecutive postseason appearances is tied as the nation's 6th-longest active streak.

• BU won a school-record 26 regular-season games and finished with its 2nd-most conference wins (14) last season.

• Baylor is playing its 621st game of the 20-year Drew era – more than half (312) have been as a ranked team, a remarkable feat considering BU was unranked for the first 122 games of Drew's rebuild.

• Baylor is 40-4 vs. unranked teams over the last 2 seasons.

• BU is playing its 312th game as a ranked team under Drew – BU was ranked in 2 of 2,197 games over the program's 97 seasons prior to Drew. Since January 2010, BU has been ranked in 297 of 434 games.

• Baylor has won 13+ conference games in 3-straight seasons after never doing so prior to 2019-20.

• Adam Flagler continued his impressive scoring stretch with 21 points against Mississippi Valley. He has scored 10+ points in 23 of his last 25 games played.

• Jalen Bridges, Keyonte George and Langston Love all scored in double figures in their debuts against MVSU (11/7).

• For the second-straight season, BU had three players notch double figures in their Baylor debut.

• Love was the first player with 10+ points and 8+ rebounds in his BU debut since Macio Teague (11/5/19)

• 43 free throws against MVSU were the most since the Bears shot 48 against Nebraska (3/21/14).
