Baylor Softball Has Three Named to NFCA All-Region Teams

WACO, Texas – Baylor softball had three named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Central Region teams, announced Thursday by the organization.

Aliyah Binford was named to the first team, while Dariana Orme and McKenzie Wilson earned second-team honors. This marks the first time since 2018 that the Bears have had someone on the first or second teams.

As Baylor’s 28th first-team selection all-time, Binford posted a .313 batting average this year with a 2.50 ERA. As a utility/pitcher, she led the team in home runs (4), doubles (14) and strikeouts (131).

Orme, who was the Bears’ No. 1 starting pitcher this season, struck out 130 batters, while pitching a team-leading 140.2 innings. She had three complete game shutouts.

Wilson played in all 52 of the Bears’ games this season, hitting a team-best .413. She led the team and the Big 12 conference this season with five triples and 27 stolen bases.

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with first-, second- and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all student-athletes now become eligible for the 2021 NFCA Division I All-America squads.

The 2021 NFCA Division I All-America teams will be announced on Wednesday, June 1.
