STORYLINES

LEADING OFF

• Baylor returns home to round out its regular season slate with a four-game homestand at Baylor Ballpark, beginning Tuesday with a midweek matchup against Stephen F. Austin.

• BU currently sits in 8th place in the Big 12 standings at 6-15 in conference play, with one Big 12 series remaining.

• Baylor's magic number to clinch a spot in the Big 12 Tournament is one. It would take just one win over Oklahoma State, OR just one Kansas loss to Texas to book BU's spot to Arlington.

• Entering the final week of the regular season, the Bears are tied for the nation's lead with 54 double plays turned, and 1.12 twin killings per game.

• BU has recorded at least one extra-base hit in each of its last 27 games and have notched at least two XBH in 16 of its last 17 games.

• Senior RHP Jake Jackson was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week after his performance on Friday at Kansas State, tying a season-high with 7.0 IP and allowing just one run on six hits with three strikeouts and a walk.

• Jackson is Baylor's fourth weekly Big 12 award recipient, BU's most in a season since 2018 (8).

• In his last start, Tuesday's starter sophomore LHP Cam Caley carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning before allowing an RBI double.

• Junior INF Jack Pineda leads the Big 12 and is tied for 15th nationally with five triples. He sits three behind the nation's leader with four regular-season games to play.

• Five triples are the most by a Bear in a single season since Richard Cunningham led the team with five in 2016.

• Baylor also ranks second in the league with 12 total triples on the year.

BY THE NUMBERS

• Baylor has never lost to SFA, boasting an unblemished 29-0 record all-time against the Lumberjacks.

• Under seventh-year head coach Steve Rodriguez, the Bears are 2-0 against the 'Jacks.

• In the last meeting between the two sides, Baylor won a 10-0 contest in 7 innings on April 23, 2019.
