WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian junior Andie Pratt has been named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Co-Reining Rider of the Year, as announced Monday afternoon by the organization.

Pratt, a 2022 NCEA All-American and the Big 12 Reining Rider of the Year, becomes just the second Bear all-time to receive the national award.

In her standout junior season, Pratt finished the 2021-22 campaign at 10-1-2 overall, including an impressive 8-1-1 regular-season record. She received All-Big 12 honors after going undefeated on the road and averaging a 70.79 across her 13 rides this season. She also tallied her first-career Most Outstanding Performer honor after scoring a season-high 76.5 against Fresno State on Nov. 20.

“I am incredibly proud of Andie for all of her accomplishments this year,” said fifth-year head coach Casie Maxwell. “For her to top off an amazing season with NCEA Co-Rider of the Year honors is amazing and speaks to her consistency and leadership in the Reining this season.”

The Paragould, Ark., native dominated the latter part of the fall slate and didn’t lose a ride in the spring, going 8-0-2 since Nov. 19. She tallied two of BU’s top three scores in Reining this year, with her season-best 76.5 against Fresno and a 73.5 against Texas A&M. Pratt also excelled in the classroom, picking up Academic All-Big 12 and NCEA All-Academic honors this season.

Pratt joins 2021’s Rachael Davis (Flat) as the only Bears in program history to be named the national rider of the year in their respective event.

Baylor finished the 2021-22 campaign at 7-8 overall and finished as quarterfinalists at the NCEA National Championship after earning the No. 6 seed.
