TOP QUOTES
Head coach Casie Maxwell
On today’s meet…
“Today was a great comeback from yesterday. Our team showed up with same energy, same confidence. Just went in and cleaned up the mistakes that kept us from the win yesterday. It was a really good morale boost for our team. I’m glad to see them come out with a win today.”

On a change in the mindset…
“We talked about it last night as a team, but really it was up to them. If they were going to let yesterday keep them down or if they were going to look at today as an opportunity to walk out of this weekend with one win, one loss. They used last night to kind of be frustrated and reset a little bit. They decided to come back remotivated and focus on the task at hand today. They looked at it as a great practice opportunity for nationals. Another opportunity to get in the ring and learn some things and prepare them for what’s next.”

Jumping Seat Junior Maddie Vorhies
On her performance…
“I was very lucky with both of my draws today. They were both super fun. Everyone rode their tails off. Everyone was working so hard. We had a great mindset going into today. It was tough to lose yesterday, but Jumping Seat stayed in a good mindset. We all felt super confident going into today.”

Reining Junior Andie Pratt
On winning her point…
“The horse I rode today was great. She felt really consistent. She was a little nervous before, but she calmed down in the pen. She felt good in her circles and her stops. Little fast to start her turn, but I really liked her. It felt really good to get my point, but it felt even better to see my teammates rally again today after the tough loss yesterday. We just need to build off today and look ahead. Keep working hard in practice. Hopefully do really well at nationals.”

WHAT’S NEXT
Baylor (7-7) awaits its final ranking for the 2022 NCEA National Championship, which begins on Thursday, April 14, at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Fla.
