No. 1 Baylor A&T Heads to No. 4 Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, Conn. – No. 1 Baylor acrobatics & tumbling heads northeast to Connecticut to face No. 4 Quinnipiac on Saturday, with start time set for 12:30 p.m. CT in the People’s United Center.

The Bears (4-0) lead the all-time series with No. 4-ranked Quinnipiac (4-1) at 10-1, with a 2-1 record at the Bobcats’ home. The last time BU faced Quinnipiac was in the 2019 NCATA Championship at home in the Ferrell Center with a 278.075-269.485 win.

The meet in Connecticut will be the second of a three-meet road stretch for Baylor.

Baylor is coming off a 23.35 point win over Saint Leo, overtaking the Lions at 285.240-261.890 in Florida. The Bears had a perfect 10.0 score in pyramid for the synchronized heat, the third time this season they’ve earned a perfect score, all in pyramid and twice for synchronized.

Quinnipiac welcomes the Bears after they routed Glenville State on March 13, 272.030, to 218.965. The Bobcats’ only loss of the season came against Gannon earlier in the season in a trio meet with East Stroudsburg. Gannon took the win 266.955-262.235. That trio meet was the first and last time Quinnipiac was at home this season.

Junior top and tumbler Emily Tobin has earned three Athlete of the Week honors from the NCATA, and earned Honorable Mention for the award most recently, while graduate student Briana Harris earned Honorable Mention Specialist of the Week as well.

The meet with the Bobcats will be streamed on ESPN+ while live updates on scoring can be found via the Bears’ Twitter account. A full recap and final scoresheet will be posted to BaylorBears.com after the conclusion of the meet.
