WACO, Texas – Baylor was one of 113 Division I baseball programs to receive the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, as announced Wednesday by the organization.

As a team, the Bears compiled a 3.27 cumulative GPA for the entire 2021-22 academic year. BU has now earned this prestigious team honor in seven consecutive seasons.

Baylor was one of three Big 12 programs to receive the award, along with Kansas, West Virginia and Oklahoma State.

The Bears turned in a program-record 3.43 fall GPA with 89 percent of the roster recording above a 3.0 GPA for the term. In the spring, BU held steady with a 3.11 GPA and saw 17 student-athletes named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team, a conference most.
