Baylor Softball Adds Two Transfers to Squad

WACO, Texas – Baylor softball has added Amber Toven and Presleigh Pilon as transfers for the 2022-23 season, head coach Glenn Moore announced on Friday.

“We are very excited to bring in two strong infielders who can help solidify our middle,” Moore said. “They have high-level experience and will bring a championship mentality.”

Toven, a transfer from the University of Arizona, joins the Bears as a sophomore. Originally from Los Angeles, Calif., she spent the 2022 season on the Wildcats’ squad, appearing in 47 games while recording a triple, two home runs and eight RBIs.

Most recently, Toven helped her team make it to the Women’s College World Series and scored the first run for the Wildcats in Oklahoma City.

As the No. 8 recruit nationally by Extra Inning Softball out of Sierra Canyon High School, Toven was a three-time all-conference and all-city performer and played club ball for Athletics Mercado in Murrieta, Calif.

Pilon, a transfer from LSU, joins Baylor as a redshirt sophomore. She attended LSU for two years, receiving a redshirt for the 2021 season and making nine appearances and four starts in the 2022 campaign.

Originally from Murrieta, Calif. Pilon was a four-year letterwinner at Murrieta Mesa High School, where she led her team to the CIF Championship as a freshman. She was the No. 7 overall recruit in the class of 2020 by Extra Inning Softball and was ranked 50th by FloSoftball.
