STORYLINES

LEADING OFF

• Baylor continues its stretch of six games in eight days with midweek matchups against Lamar and Sam Houston on Monday and Tuesday, before heading to Austin for a three-game series at Texas over the weekend.

• BU currently sits in seventh place in the Big 12 standings at 4-8 in conference play, with 4 Big 12 series remaining.

• Baylor's pitching staff did not walk a batter in any of the three games against Kansas.

• The Bears had allowed at least one free pass in 31 of its other 32 games this season.

• BU's defense did not commit an error in the three-game series against the Jayhawks and has only committed one in the last six games.

• The Bears continue to turn double plays at a high rate, leading the Big 12 and ranking in the top-five nationally with 36 total twin killings and 1.03 per game.

• BU has recorded at least one extra-base hit in each of its last 14 games, and have notched at least three XBH in 16 games this season.

• Sophomore OF Jared McKenzie has been on an absolute tear of late, batting .400 (30-for-75) since March 19.

• 13 of McKenzie's 30 hits have gone for extra bases and he has driven in 20 runs across those last 18 games.

• McKenzie's 22-game on-base streak is a career high.

• Baylor leads the all-time series 45-32-1 over Lamar and 67-48 over Sam Houston.

• Under seventh-year head coach Steve Rodriguez, the Bears are 2-1 against the Cardinals and 6-5 against the Bearkats.

• BU took the most recent meeting against LU, 2-1, on April 3, 2018, while SHSU claimed an 11-10 victory earlier this season over the Bears on March 15 in Huntsville.

• The Bears are 48-18 in midweek contests under Rodriguez, including a 5-3 in record in such games this season.
