Story lines

  *   Baylor is set for their last two games of their three game homestand this week. The Bears will first face the Lumberjacks of Stephen F. Austin on Thursday Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. They will then prepare to take on San Francisco on Sunday Sept. 19 at noon for the last nonconference matchup of the season.
  *   SFA is 2-4-1 this season and are coming off of a win against Prairie View A&M where they won 2-0.
  *   San Francisco is 3-2-1 so far this season and are coming off of a win against Portland State 3-0.
  *   The Bears only had one game last week allowing time for recovery and focus heading into the last week before conference play.
  *   Baylor faced Oregon last Sunday in a thrilling come from behind overtime tie. After falling behind early the Bears overcame a 2-0 deficit in the final nine minutes of the game. To get the scoring started, Mackenzie Anthony headed the ball into the top left corner of the net after a perfect assist from Elizabeth Kooiman. A double yellow card on a Oregon forward had the ducks playing with just ten players for the remainder of the game. Chloe Japic got a chance to tie things up with just two seconds left on the clock after another Duck got a yellow card and set up Japic for a penalty kick. Her initial shot was saved by the goalkeeper, but staying on top of things Japic lined up the rebound and sailed it into the goal to force overtime. Both teams had chances in overtime but the game ended in a 2-2 tie.
  *   Baylor hasn’t recorded a loss since Aug. 26 finishing its last four games in a win or tie. The last two games for the Bears have been double overtime draws.
  *   Jennifer Wandt picks up Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time already this season. She now has seven career Big 12 weekly awards and is the most in program history. It is the third goalkeeper weekly award since the accolade was introduced last season. Her award come from her stellar performance against Oregon where she recorded a season-high six saves.
  *   Mackenzie Anthony goal against Oregon is now her fourth goal this season, she is leading the Bears in goals.
  *   The goal from Chloe Japic with just :01 remaining on the clock is the latest a goal has been scored in Baylor Soccer history.
  *   This is the first time since Sept. 2020 that the Bears have had back-to-back double overtime draws with opponents. The previous occurrence was between TCU (0-0) and Texas Tech (0-0).
  *   Thursday’s matchup against Stephen F. Austin will be the second time in program history these two teams are meeting. They had previously met on Sept. 10, 1996 where the Bears took a 5-0 victory in Nacogdoches.
  *   Sunday’s matchup against San Francisco will be the first time the schools are facing each other.
