Baylor Women’s Golf Finishes Ninth at Ping/ASU Invitational
Snyder ties for sixth place individually in 84-player field

THE RUNDOWN
PHOENIX, Ariz. – Baylor women’s golf moved up two spots to finish in ninth place with a 54-hole total of 14-over-par 878 in the Ping/ASU Invitational. The Bears carded even-par 288 in Sunday’s final round at Papago Golf Club, which was the sixth-best score of the day.



No. 8 Baylor (+14) finished ahead of No. 48 New Mexico (+16), No. 23 UCLA (+18), San Jose State (+23), Cal Poly (+32), Washington State (+44) and California (+49). The Bears placed behind No. 7 Arizona State (-2), No. 15 Oregon (-2), No. 34 Michigan (E), No. 44 Oregon State (+2), No. 38 Stanford (+4), No. 14 Northwestern (+7), Denver (+10) and No. 17 Arizona (+12).



Freshman Britta Snyder again posted Baylor’s best score of the day, making three birdies on the front-9 on her way to a 1-under 71. She finished tied for sixth place in the 84-player field with a 54-hole total of 3-under 211. Gurleen Kaur matched Snyder’s 1-under 71 by making birdies on the final two holes to finish tied for 55th place at 10-over 226.



Hannah Karg finished strong with two birdies on her final three holes to card even-par 72, which moved her into a tie for 36th place at 6-over 222. Elodie Chapelet had the Bears’ final counting score at 2-over 74 to finish tied for 60th place at 11-over 227.



Rosie Belsham made a birdie on her final hole to finish at 3-over 75, tied for 30th place at 4-over 220 for the tournament. Diane Baillieux, who was competing as an individual, shot 1-over 73 in the final round and also tied for 30th place at 4-over 220.


STAT OF THE DAY
6 – Freshman Britta Snyder recorded her sixth top-10 individual finish of the season. She tied for third place in the Schooner Fall Classic, tied for eighth in the Betsy Rawls Invitational, finished eighth at the Kissing Tree Invitational, tied for ninth at the Trinity Forest Invitational, placed third at the ICON Invitational and tied for sixth at the Ping/ASU Invitational.

Baylor next competes April 12-13 in the Houston Oaks Invitational at Golf Club at Houston Oaks, the Bears’ final tournament before postseason play.
