FORT WORTH, Texas – Baylor fell against No. 12 TCU, 11-2, on Saturday at Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. The Bears (13-9, 1-4 Big 12) will look to take game three against the Horned Frogs (15-7, 2-0 Big 12) tomorrow afternoon.

The Horned Frogs jumped out early and often after putting up a five-spot in the first inning, TCU added two more in the second. In the third frame, the Horned Frogs continued to pour it on with another three runs to make it 10-0.

Later in the game, TCU scratched across another run in the sixth to push the lead to 11-0. In the top of the seventh, Baylor broke up the no hitter when newcomer Antonio Valdez used a pinch hit double for the first hit of the game.

BU starter Blake Helton (1-2) picked up the loss, while TCU’s Austin Krob (3-0) earned the win.

QUOTE FROM COACH ROD
“It’s easy to be disappointed in regards to how we performed on the mound and in the box but as a coach you have to use these as coaching moments and show them exactly what the expectations are and how they are supposed to look. It wasn’t a great day but usually in those bad days there’s a lot of coaching moments and if you come away with some takeaways to help coach them in the future, that’s what it’s all about. It’s easy to go out and play when everything is going well but when things go bad you have to learn from it so it doesn’t happen again.”

WHAT’S NEXT
The series finale will take place on Sunday at 1 p.m.
