IRVING, Texas – For the first time in her illustrious career, Baylor volleyball’s Yossiana Pressley has been named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Wednesday morning.

In two road matches last week, Pressley put together an impressive defensive showing in leading the Bears with 32 digs (3.20 per set) and adding five blocks, including two solo (one in each match). The senior OH also contributed a team-high 45 kills (4.50 per set) on a .303 efficiency and averaged 4.8 points per set.

Pressley added to her conference record total with her 19th-career weekly Big 12 award. This is her fourth of the season, tied for most in the league. Baylor also leads the Big 12 with 10 weekly accolades in 2020-21, as six different Bears have been honored.
