IRVING, Texas – Baylor’s Taylor Moon and Jennifer Wandt were named to the 2021 Preseason All-Big 12 Soccer team, announced Tuesday by the conference office.



Moon, a fourth-year senior, received All-Big 12 second-team honors a year ago after leading the Bears with six goals on the season. Half of those came against Louisiana on March 27 when Baylor erupted for a 5-0 win over the Ragin’ Cajuns, its most goals since a 6-0 win over Nebraska on Sept. 2, 2018. It marked Moon’s first hat trick, the 19th in program history and the first since Elizabeth Kooiman did the same against West Virginia on Oct. 3, 2019.



Wandt, who returns for a fifth year in the green and gold, also was named to the All-Big 12 second team a year ago. The Brookfield, Wisc., native was exceptional between the pipes for the Bears as her seven shutouts on the season catapulted her to the top in Baylor history with 32 career clean sheets. Of the 77 games she has played in for the Bears, she has recorded a shutout in 42 percent of them.



This marks the first preseason selection for Moon and Wandt.



Baylor hosts an exhibition match against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Thursday, Aug. 12 at 7 p.m.) and travels to Texas A&M for another exhibition (Sunday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m.) before beginning the season on the road at Minnesota on Thursday, Aug. 19 with the match slated for a 6 p.m. start.
