WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian’s Madaline Callaway, Rachael Davis and Daisy Kaufman have been named 2021 NCEA All-Americans, as announced by the organization on Thursday.

Davis is an NCEA First Team Flat All-American, while Callaway and Kaufman were named NCEA Second Team Reining All-Americans.

With the honor, Davis becomes the 22nd Flat selection in program history, while Callaway and Kaufman are the sixth and seventh Reining honorees.

“It’s a huge honor for Maddie, Rachael and Daisy,” head coach Casie Maxwell said. “It’s outstanding that they were able to sustain such strong records through the kind of season we’ve had. To stay that consistent, especially with such a tough road schedule, is just outstanding and shows their commitment to the team and their ability to be great leaders in their events.”

Davis is now a three-time NCEA All-American in Flat, earning second team honors in 2019 and first team accolades a season ago. Callaway and Kaufman each picked up their first-career All-America award.

After going a perfect 9-0 this season, Davis picked up first team honors for the second season in a row. The senior from Woodinville, Wash., tallied three MOP’s in the regular season, in addition to being named the Big 12 Flat Rider of the Year and Most Outstanding Performer at the 2021 Big 12 Championship in her event. Davis scored a season-high 86 against Fresno State in a neutral-site contest and went an impressive 5-0 in March on her way to being named the NCEA National Flat Rider of the Month.

A junior from Loveland, Colo., Callaway went 6-3 in 2021 in Reining with two regular-season MOP’s. Alongside Davis, Callaway was named to the All-Big 12 team in her event. Additionally, she was named the Most Outstanding Performer in Reining at the 2021 Big 12 Championship. Her season-high 74 at Texas A&M in BU’s season-opener earned her NCEA National Reining Rider of the Month honors.

Kaufman was thrust into the Bears lineup following a midseason pause and stepped up to the task, going 4-1 in limited action. She collected one regular-season MOP with a season-high 73.5 at Oklahoma State in the first ride of her collegiate career. In her five rides, she averaged around a 71.5 on the season.

The Bears finished the 2021 regular season at 2-7 with a third place finish in the Big 12 Championship and earned the No. 8 seed for the NCEA National Championship. They’ll take on No. 1 Auburn when nationals kicks off on Thursday, April 15 at the Extraco Events Center in Waco.
