WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s golf is headed to Austin to play in the 46th annual Betsy Rawls Invitational, which runs Saturday and Sunday at UT Golf Club.

BU is competing at the tournament for a 14th time and fourth consecutive season. Baylor’s third-place finish at last season’s Betsy Rawls Invite tied the best in program history, matching the results from 2007 and 2014.

The Bears will take on a 15-team field featuring No. 4 Texas, No. 6 Kent State, No. 21 Denver, No. 22 Oklahoma State, No. 29 Baylor, No. 46 Maryland, North Texas, TCU, Colorado, Miami, New Mexico, Yale, UNLV, Texas State and SMU.

Teams will play 36 holes on Saturday and a final 18 holes on Sunday. Saturday’s first round is an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start with Baylor paired with North Texas and Colorado starting on the fourth through seventh holes.

Baylor’s lineup is led by junior Gurleen Kaur in the No. 1 spot. She’s followed by junior Diane Baillieux, graduate transfer Elodie Chapelet and seniors Erica Chiang and Fiona Liddell. Chiang and Liddell will tee off from No. 7, while Kaur, Baillieux and Liddell will start from the fourth, fifth and sixth tees, respectively.

Kaur leads the Bears with a 71.56 stroke average and five rounds at par or better through nine rounds played. Chapelet is next at 72.22, followed by Liddell at 73.33 and Baillieux at 73.44. Chiang has played only three rounds this season with a 71.67 stroke average.

Kaur has recorded a pair of third place individual finishes, while Chapelet has earned two top-10s. Liddell and Baillieux also have top-10 finishes, giving BU six individual top-10s through three tournaments.

BU is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Schooner Fall Classic, which was the Bears’ third consecutive fourth-place result to open the 2019-20 season. Following the Betsy Rawls Invite, BU wraps up its fall season with a trip to the Bahamas to play in the White Sands Invitational, Oct. 28-30 at Ocean Club. The spring season starts Feb. 9 with the SMU Spring Invite at Dallas Athletic Club.
