THE RUNDOWN
NORTH PLAINS, Ore. – Baylor men’s golf finished in 10th place after shooting 8-over-par 292 in Tuesday’s final round at the Nike Collegiate Invitational. The Bears posted a three-round total of 7-over 859 at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club’s Witch Hollow course.

Baylor (+7) finished in front of USC (+9), TCU (+11), Florida (+13), Oregon (+17) and Ohio State (+21). Oklahoma (-29) won the tournament, followed by Wake Forest (-24), Clemson (-17), Oklahoma State (-12), Texas (-9), Vanderbilt (-9), Duke (-5), Georgia (-2), Stanford (+3) and Baylor (+7).

Cooper Dossey led the Bears with a final round of 3-under-par 68 to finish tied for 10th place at 5-under-par 208 for the tournament. Dossey has finished top-10 in all three tournaments this season while recording seven of nine rounds at par or better. He moved into sole possession of 11th on Baylor’s all-time list with 12 career top-10 finishes.

Mark Reppe carded a 2-over 73 in the final round to finish tied for 36th place at 2-over 215. Travis McInroe tied for 57th place at 8-over 221 after a final round of 4-over 75, while Colin Kober tied for 67th place at 12-over 225 with a final round of 5-over 76. Johnny Keefer’s third-round score was disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard.

HIGHLIGHTS

  *   Baylor finished seventh in the 15-team field in par-5 scoring at 12-under 4.79, seventh in par-3 scoring at 6-over 3.09 and 13th in par-4 scoring at 22-over 4.17.
  *   BU was ninth in the field with 46 birdies and tied for 12th with 154 pars.
  *   Cooper Dossey tied for seventh in the 75-player field in par-3 scoring at 2-under 2.87.
  *   Mark Reppe tied for sixth in par-5 scoring at 5-under 4.58, while Dossey tied for 17th at 4-under 4.67.
  *   Dossey led the tournament with 41 pars across 54 holes.
  *   Travis McInroe tied for eighth in the field with 14 birdies across 54 holes.

STAT OF THE DAY
12 – Cooper Dossey recorded his 12th career top-10 individual finish, passing Kory Bowman for sole possession of 11th place on Baylor’s career top-10s list. Next up are Aaron Pellegrom and Garrett May tied for ninth place with 14 career top-10s. Dossey is tied for 12th with six career top-5 finishes, and his 71.72 career stroke average ranks second in program history behind only Jimmy Walker’s 71.55.

WHAT'S NEXT
Baylor returns to action at the 2019 Big 12 Match Play Championship, which runs Oct. 11-13 at Golf Club at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas. The Bears won the inaugural match play championship last season, with Cooper Dossey and Colin Kober each going 5-0 in their individual matches to lead the Bears to a perfect 5-0 team record.
