MBB Team USA Dominates Team India in Game One of FISU World University Games, 111-52
USA comes out on top with six players in double-figures

HAGEN, Germany – Baylor men’s basketball, representing as Team USA in the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games, held nothing back in its first game, taking down Team India with a final score of 111-52.



An impressive six players finished the night from the Ischelandhalle facility in double-figures. Overall, USA shot 55-percent from the field and secured 29 points off turnovers and earned 24 second chance points. All 10 players on the roster saw time on the court with 48 points coming off the bench.



Isaac Williams IV led for Team USA with 18 points, shooting 67-percent. Dan Skillings Jr. had a perfect night for 17 points, shooting eight-for-eight from the field. Right behind was Obi Agbim with 16 points, 12 of those coming from beyond the arc.



Freshman Andre Iguodala II made his debut with 13 points and five rebounds, while veteran JJ White additionally finished with 13 points, six rebounds and six assists. Cameron Carr was the final player to get up in double-digits for USA with 12 points from only eight minutes on the court.



Samson Aletan, competing for Team USA while being enrolled on Yale University’s men’s basketball roster, had a team-high of 10 rebounds with six points. Waco-native Caden Powell was right behind with eight rebounds and five points.



THE RUN DOWN

Team USA took a big jump from the buzzer to tip-off Game One in Germany. Holding India to a mere 12 points in the first, India only scored four points in the first five minutes of the game.



Skillings came out hot with 13 points in the first quarter, including a poster dunk on India. The Cincinnati-transfer ended with an impressive stat line of 17 points, eight field goals, four rebounds and an assist from only eight minutes of playing time.



Agbim hit a three at the buzzer to end first quarter and would go on to go four-from-eight from the arc and two-for-three from the field and four assists.



Driving in the second quarter, USA held the foot on the gas pedal and secured another 32 points in the second. At the half, USA led by nearly 40 points, 64-26. Cameron Carr send the team off on a high note with a team-high of five steals, including one leading to a scoop-and-score off of an energetic dunk.



Coming out of the half, Team USA put up another 30 points while holding India to 11 points in the third quarter. Will Kuykendall made himself known with eight points in the third.



Drew Perry nailed a three to push Team USA past 100 points in the fourth and helped guide Team USA to its first win in Germany.

Team USA will face off against Team Latvia in game two of pool play in Essen, Germany, beginning at 5:30 pm CET (10:30 am CT).
