WACO, Texas – Baylor baseball sixth-year senior right-handed pitcher Gabe Craig was named to the 2025 Academic All-America Third Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators and announced Tuesday by the organization.

Craig, a graduate student, completed his undergrad degree in corporate communication with a 3.69 GPA and owned a 3.72 GPA in grad school for sport management. On the diamond, Craig led the country with a microscopic 0.56 ERA, a 0.50 WHIP and a 17:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio during a season that saw him land five All-America honors. Craig finished the year with a 3-0 record and earned 10 saves, the most by a Bear since 2018.

One of four relief pitchers nationally to earn five or more All-America accolades, including three first-team honors, Craig was also named one of five finalists for the 2025 College Baseball Foundation National Pitcher of the Year Award. Additionally, Craig became the second Bear in program history to be named a finalist for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award.

To round out his trophy case, Craig also picked up All-Big 12 First Team praise and ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region Second Team recognition earlier this summer.

Craig is Baylor baseball’s first Academic All-American since 2021. He becomes the 14th different Bear to collect the program’s 18th all-time Academic All-America honor.

Student-athletes are recognized by CSC members for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. To be considered, one must accumulate a cumulative GPA above 3.50 with at least a sophomore athletic standing, while being a starter or key reserve for their respective team.
