CARLSBAD, Calif. — Baylor junior BaiMai Seema recorded a tie for 28th at the NCAA Championship on Monday on the North Course at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa.

Seema was the fifth player in program history to compete as an individual in the NCAA Championship and the first since Gurleen Kaur in 2022. The junior also carded Baylor’s best finish by an individual at the NCAA Championship since Kaur tied for 28th in 2021.

Adela Cernousek of Texas A&M captured the individual championship with a 12-under 276, three shots ahead of Florida State’s Lottie Woad. On the team side, LSU and Stanford tied for the stroke-play title, with the Cardinal winning the tiebreaker based on better non-counting scores over the four rounds. Stanford will be the top-overall seed entering the match-play portion ahead of LSU. Texas A&M will be the No. 3 seed, followed by No. 4 USC, No. 5 Clemson, No. 6 UCLA, No. 7 Oregon and No. 8 Auburn.

THE RUNDOWN
Starting at No. 10, Seema carded back-to-back bogeys at Nos. 12 and 13 to fall to 2-over early in the afternoon. With her teammates rooting her on, Seema made birdies at Nos. 15 and 18 to get back to even at the turn. Seema broke into red figures for the first time with a birdie at No. 2. Down the stretch, she made bogeys at Nos. 4, 6 and 9 to close the week with a 2-over 74 and a tie for 28th.
